Thomas Yu, M.D.

Thomas Yu, M.D. is a board certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. He received his medical degree with honors at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his internship in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Dr. Yu received his residency training in dermatology at Columbia University’s St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed his fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Surgery at Columbia University’s Center for Laser and Dermatologic Surgery. He has been in practice over 16 years. He is the author of multiple articles and book chapters regarding cutaneous oncology, reconstructive surgery and dermatologic surgery.

Amalie Derdeyn, MD

As a Board-Certified Dermatologist, Dr. Derdeyn has practiced medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology in the Central Virginia area for over 16 years.

Dr. Derdeyn was named a Bowman Scholar for Clinical Excellence from UVA’s School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Dermatology, where she served as Chief Resident, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

Dr. Derdeyn believes that healthy skin is a reflection of overall wellness, and strives to ensure her patients feel comfortable and confident in their skincare journey.

Shane O'Neil, PA-C

Shane O'Neil is a board-certified Physician Assistant from Binghamton, NY with 5 years of dermatology experience. He is married to his wife KC, who is also a physician assistant. Shane's hobbies include exercise, playing and watching sports, reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Having recently relocated from the Washington, D.C. area, Shane is happy to now call Charlotte home. "I strive to provide easy access and excellent care so my patients can leave our office with a smile on their face."
